After the underwhelming, controversial street single "Death Of Auto Tune", Jay-Z is back with his second release from the much anticipated album "The Blueprint 3" - the Kanye West and Rihanna collaboration, "Run This Town". A poor first single and numerous leaks which can only be described as average has resulted in people questioning whether or not ‘Jay-hova’ still has it.  Will this change people's mind?  Well, despite brilliant production from Kanye West and an annoyingly catchy hook from pop princess Rihanna, Jay does little to prove his critics wrong, his performance being somewhat below par which allows Kanye to steal the show once again: something Mr West has made a habit of lately!

This song shows Jay-Z still has the ability to make a hit with the world's best producers at his feet, but what it doesn’t show is whether or not he can rap and stay relevant amongst the new generation of lyrically-gifted rappers; Jay-Z certainly thinks he can: "I get more in-depth if you boys really real enough", but is this just an excuse not to rap like he used to?

What we do know is the song is a certified smash and will most likely flood our radio stations, clubs & television screens for the months ahead, with its dramatic post-apocalyptic video and a cast kitted out in "all black everything".

"The Blueprint 3" is out September 11, 2009.
