VV Brown - Crying Blood

Gravity defying bangs atop her 6ft heights, glittering brogues and a band that complements her gritty, 1950’s electronic sound; the clash of the titans returns as Motown meets Pop in a divine mix up VV herself has labelled “doo wop indie”.

VV (Veronica) Brown not only leads the dancing to her hot-coal tunage.  On debut single "Crying Blood" (2008), she plays every instrument on the track herself - singing about heartbreak and absurdly warping it into the funkiest pop beats to be heard for miles around – and listen closely and you will hear those Nintendo sound effects chirruping in the background.

Having been around the music block as a backing singer for the Pussy Cat Dolls and the Sugababes, VV has earned her street-cred back being nominated for BBC’s Sound of Music award, alongside starlet Little Boots and Frankmusik.

"Crying Blood" will undoubtedly hit anthem status in the summer of 2009 and as VV is currently touring with Ladyhawke and The Ting Tings, I am stumped to think of a better collaboration of new-indie laydee's to entertain the masses this year.
