Eric Prydz's 2004 release, "Call On Me", sampling Steve Winwood's "Valerie", was a mixed blessing for the Swedish artist. 

The song instantly gave him world-wide fame and recognition but also potentially pigeon-holed him as cheesy commercial dance.  

His selection of a tune like “Pjanoo” as a single comes then as a pleasant surprise. Symptomatic perhaps of a desire to return to his more underground roots, it certainly doesn't scream commercial hit (nor sound for that matter).

Yet sitting comfortably between progressive house and techno, the track is bound to be rotated ad nauseam by many DJs in the next twelve months. So far, so “Call On Me” – but in the case of “Pjanoo”, this may prove a blessing for his public as well this time.
